They do come handy

Sweeping, mopping and dusting takes times and for a home this routine should be a regular one. I can’t possibly do this on weekdays. The bathrooms need to be scrubbed as well. This bathroom cleaning thing is my priority. I want a bathroom which I can sleep in if I could. Well so far the bathrooms are not that comfy or grand looking, maybe when I have enough money to renovate I would give it a face lift to change it into my dream bathroom.

Anyway in this cleaning department, I need help. I’m no superwoman even though I really want to be one. Can fly around at speed and cleans up in seconds. That will be perfect in an unreal world.

So I employed part time maids from an agency. It's been almost a year already. The maids come to the house twice weekly for a few hours. She cleans and irons. Actually they do everything under the sun within the hours given. So I gave them specific instruction on what to cover. I have two different regular maids so I could compare the two in terms of work. The good thing about this is that if you are not satisfied with one, you could change. No need to have talks with the maid herself or lose your mind over it. Secondly if you feel irritated about their work, at least they are not there for me to bear their presence. They work and they go.

Financially there’s no agency fees whatsoever. And if you have functions, just call a couple of them to help you the whole day. It’s quite affordable.

The one worry is theft. So, I try to remember to lock up properly whatever things I think valuable to me, not that I keep jewelry in the house anyway. Sometimes I do forget and just kept my fingers cross that nothing will be missing. It’s been almost a year I have been using them and thus far everything is sun and shiny. If anything missing, the agency will be the first I would call! It never happened yet so I don’t know what will be the action from the agency if it does.

I also try to tidy up books and toys before they come so that they don’t misplace them. This reduces headaches to find those items when you need them.

Part time maids are trained to be very polite. They listen and they try to execute the job. I don’t have to give too much instruction since they are more professional at their jobs and I don’t need to repeat the instructions. I cannot say the work is perfection but considering the amount of task it's satisfactory.

So far so good.
